🔒 Privacy Policy

Your data.
Plain English.

Saturday Racing is a free-to-play community. We collect the minimum data needed to run the site, we don't sell it, and we don't track you across the web. This page explains exactly what we hold and why.

Last updated: April 2026 UK GDPR compliant No advertising cookies No data sold
🚫

No advertising cookies

Saturday Racing carries no adverts and uses no advertising or tracking networks. No pixels, no fingerprinting, no retargeting.

🏠

Analytics stay on our server

We track page events in our own database. Nothing is sent to Google Analytics, Meta, or any third-party analytics service.

🔒

Your data is never sold

We do not sell, rent or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. Ever.

01

Who we are

Saturday Racing is operated as a free-to-play entertainment product. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. We can be reached at mrfox@saturday-racing.com

We are not a licensed gambling operator. We take no bets and handle no money. Our product is a free community platform built around horse racing. This policy covers all data collected through saturday-racing.com and its subpages.

02

What we collect

We collect only what is necessary to run the service. The table below lists every category of data we hold.

Data type What it includes Legal basis
Account data Username, email address, password (hashed — we never store it in plain text), date joined Contract — required to provide the service you signed up for
Pick data Your horse selection for the featured race. This is the core of the community product. Contract — this is the service
Usage events Actions like login, simulation runs, race views — stored in our own database. No external service involved. Legitimate interest — understanding how the site is used to improve it
Technical data IP address (in server logs, not stored in the application database), browser type via standard HTTP headers Legitimate interest — security and fraud prevention
03

Cookies & browser storage

We use only strictly necessary cookies — the minimum required to make the site function. We do not use advertising, analytics or preference cookies.

Because we use only strictly necessary cookies, UK law (PECR) and EU ePrivacy rules do not require us to show a cookie consent banner. You have the right to block cookies in your browser settings — note that blocking the sessionid cookie will prevent you from logging in.

04

Google Fonts

An honest note about our typography.

Saturday Racing's typography (Playfair Display & DM Sans) is currently loaded from Google Fonts. This means your browser makes a request to Google's servers when you visit, which could allow Google to log your IP address.

We are in the process of self-hosting these fonts so that no third-party network call is made. Once complete, this notice will be removed. Google's privacy policy applies to any data collected via this request: policies.google.com/privacy →

05

Email

We send transactional emails only — never marketing unless you ask for it.

We use Brevo (formerly Sendinblue) to deliver transactional emails — account registration confirmation, password reset, and race result notifications. Your email address is passed to Brevo for this purpose only.

Brevo is a GDPR-compliant processor with servers in the EU. We do not use Brevo for marketing campaigns. You can review Brevo's data processing terms at brevo.com →

We do not track email opens or link clicks. All emails contain an unsubscribe option — though note that unsubscribing from transactional emails (such as password resets) may affect your ability to use the service.

06

Not the data brokers.
