Mr Fox’s call
L'Amandine
MEDIUM Advised 8/15 SP 1/4F Est. 52%
Mr Fox says
L'Amandine (SR 165, 8/15) is the class standout by a considerable margin — 10 SR points clear of Delulu and 16 clear of Annie Mulligan — and the market has endorsed this emphatically with a 38% inward move. Trainer Jamie Snowden (25% strike rate, 840 runners) is among the sharper yards in the jumping game and jockey Gavin Sheehan (22%, 1302 runners) is a high-quality booking for a market leader. The 190-day absence is the only note of caution, but form of 31- shows a horse placed on debut before a winning effort, and the market steamers suggest connections are happy with her readiness. Each-way alternative: Annie Mulligan. Main danger: Delulu — Delulu (SR 155, 11/4) is Dan Skelton-trained with a 22% yard strike rate and has placed in both starts, but the 56% market drift is a serious warning sign that something — possibly the class rise or headgear change — gives connections pause, making her a danger rather than a preferred alternative.
