Niffler (SR 80, 6/4) is the standout on ability in this Class 6 field — an SR of 80 towers over the next-best Fram Castle (SR 67) and Tazaman (SR 66), a margin that matters enormously at this level. The form string 901112 tells a clear story: after an early blip the horse has rattled off three consecutive wins, and Sir Mark Prescott's operation (19% career strike rate from 734 runners) is the sharpest yard in the field by some distance. At 9-6, Niffler carries a weight that is very manageable given the SR advantage, and while DistFit:? flags an unproven trip, a progressive 3yo winning over staying distances for Prescott is the norm rather than the exception. The favourite tag is fully deserved: the only concern is MarkMv:+5, but a horse in a three-win sequence rising 5lb in Class 6 is not at a punitive mark. Each-way alternative: Naasma.
