Moments Away
MEDIUM Advised 4/6 Est. 52%
Mr Fox says
Moments Away (SR 160, 4/6) is in a class of its own in this five-runner novice hurdle — the SR advantage of 30+ points over the next best (Back It Up at SR 130) is enormous and reflects a fundamentally superior horse. Sean Bowen (24% career strike rate, 2367 runners — the most accomplished pilot in the race by a significant margin) is booked, and the market has steamed in 24% since opening, signalling strong stable confidence. The tongue-tie addition (HG:t) is typically applied when connections want to optimise a horse that may have shown a tendency to idle or over-breathe, not to mask a problem. Distance and going are unknown quantities (DistFit:?, GoingFit:?) but with a SR this far clear of the field, Moments Away does not need pace or ground conditions to align perfectly — the raw ability edge is too large to overcome. Each-way alternative: Gaelic Rambler. Main danger: Gaelic Rambler — Gaelic Rambler (SR 116, 7/2) has proven distance fitness (DistFit:+) and a positive going record (GoingFit:+) on today's conditions — the strongest ground/trip profile in the field outside of Moments Away — and a recent win (form ending in '1') shows it arrives in form, making it the one horse capable of capitalising if Moments Away encounters any jumping issue on its first run over hurdles at this trip.
